Some gifts say, “I remembered the date.”

This one says, “I know what fascinates you.”

The MarinerPoet Wooden Butterfly Automaton brings together the delicate beauty of a butterfly and the fascination of visible mechanics. At rest, its patterned wooden wings form an elegant sculpture. Once activated, all four wings rise and fall in a rhythmic flutter, transforming the piece into something that feels unexpectedly alive.

The openwork patterns trace the delicate shapes and visual rhythm found in real butterfly wings. As the four articulated wings open and close, their coordinated motion recreates the graceful flutter of a butterfly preparing to take flight.

It does more than reproduce a butterfly’s silhouette—it captures the patterns, movement, and sense of life that make butterflies so mesmerizing to watch.

The warmth of natural wood meets the precision and strength of exposed mechanical components.

Organic wood grain softens the industrial structure, while metal-toned linkages add contrast, depth, and a distinctive mechanical character. These two opposing aesthetics do not compete—they make each other more visible.

The result is neither a traditional wooden ornament nor a cold mechanical model. It is a striking collision of nature, craftsmanship, and engineering.

The mechanism is not hidden inside a closed box. Its joints, linkages, and moving components remain visible, allowing you to watch the motion travel from the base to the wings.

Every cycle becomes more than a flutter. It is a small mechanical performance that invites you to look closer and discover how the movement is created.

Designed for quiet environments, the automaton operates with near-silent motion. No distracting noise—just gentle movement that brings calm.

For someone who loves butterflies, nature, woodworking, engineering, mechanical design, or kinetic art, an ordinary butterfly decoration may feel too familiar.

This automaton brings several interests together in one piece, making it especially meaningful for the person who already seems to have everything.

It is the kind of gift that quietly says:

“I saw this and immediately thought of you.”

Displayed on a desk, shelf, or in a creative space, the butterfly remains visually striking even when it is not moving. Activate it, and the lifelike patterns and rhythmic movement of its wings reveal an entirely different experience.

Not simply a figurine and not merely a machine, it is a nature-inspired piece of kinetic art—designed to be noticed, watched, and remembered.

Each piece takes around 200 hours of skilled craftsmanship. Real fans know the art, the effort, and truly love it.
Each automaton is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans—making every piece a one-of-a-kind creation, rich with personality and charm.
